SX5-8202021
Blind Spot Elimination: The mirror’s curved glass (or flat glass, depending on configuration) provides a wide view of the rear-left lane—covering areas the driver can’t see with their peripheral vision, reducing lane-change collision risks.
Adjustable View: Manual or electric adjustment lets the driver tweak the mirror angle to match their height and seating position—ensuring a clear, personalized view every time. Electric models even let you adjust from the dashboard (no need to reach outside).
Weather Adaptation: Optional heating elements melt fog, ice, or dew on the mirror glass in cold/wet weather—keeping the view clear, while the waterproof housing prevents water from seeping inside and damaging internal parts.
Fits: All Dongfeng FMC SX5 variants (matches door mounting points, mirror size, and electrical specs—confirm via VIN; note if your SX5 uses manual or electric mirrors).
Won’t Fit:
Other Dongfeng models: Like H30, AX3, or Dignity ix5—different door designs, mirror sizes, or electrical setups (mirror won’t attach or adjustment won’t work).
Non-Dongfeng vehicles: Even if the shape looks similar, their door mounting holes and mirror curvature differ (no functional fit—distorted view or loose attachment).
Dongfeng FMC SX5’s right side: Left and right mirrors are mirror images (different mounting bases and glass curvature)—this part is for the left only (right side needs a different part number).
For Manual Mirrors:
Prep: Remove the plastic cover inside the SX5’s left door (to access mirror mounting screws).
Remove Old Mirror: Unscrew the bolts holding the old mirror to the door, then disconnect any wiring (if heated). Pull the old mirror off.
Install New Mirror: Align SX5-8202021 with the door’s mounting holes, secure with bolts, and reattach the door cover.
For Electric/Heated Mirrors:
Follow steps above, but extra care: Disconnect the battery first (avoids electrical shocks). Match the new mirror’s wiring harness to the door’s existing connector (don’t mix up wires).
Test: Reconnect the battery and check if electric adjustment/heating works before reattaching the door cover.
Weekly Cleaning: Wipe the mirror glass with a soft cloth and glass cleaner to remove dirt, bug guts, or road salt—dirty mirrors reduce visibility by 40–50%.
Monthly Inspection: Check the housing for cracks, the mounting screws for tightness, and (for electric models) the adjustment motor for smooth operation—tighten loose screws or replace damaged parts early.
Heating Element Check (Winter): Test the heater before cold weather hits—if it doesn’t melt ice, check the wiring or fuse (common issues are loose connections).
Avoid Harsh Impacts: Don’t push or pull the mirror forcefully (e.g., when parking too close)—this can break the adjustment mechanism or crack the housing.
